Make no mistake, Summer 2019 has been a busy time for the staff at Windy Hill Wedding & Event Barn. “We’ve been booked all summer. With the exception of two days, every available date in June, July and August has been rented out for weddings,” manager Lauren Burns said.
But summer is merely a warmup for fall, which is officially the most popular season for weddings. According to Wedding Wire, one in three weddings take place in the fall—with most couples choosing to get married in October.
“Brides will call and say, ‘We don’t have a date for our wedding yet, but we know we want it to be in October,’” Burns said.
October has been the most popular wedding month for the past three years, according to data from Wedding Wire. September is the second most popular wedding month, followed by June, May and August.
“Fall is a great time to enjoy the outdoors,” Burns said. “A lot of our wedding parties like to hang out by the fire pit or take a stroll on our 10-acres of land. And of course, the changing leaves in fall make for a gorgeous backdrop.”
But brides and grooms who dream of a fall wedding need to reserve their venue as early as possible. “Fall weddings need to be booked a full year to a year-and-a-half in advance,” Burns warns.
No surprise, Windy Hill Wedding & Event Barn is booked solid this coming October. And they’ve already booked one of the Saturdays in October 2020!
“Next year, there are five Saturdays in the month of October, which we’re excited to see!” Burns said.
